Conflict & Displacement
Many children have been forced to leave their homes, disrupting their education and limiting access to safe learning environments.
The Maale Foundation works in some of South Sudan’s most vulnerable communities, where conflict, displacement, and limited access to education continue to affect children’s futures. By partnering with local communities, we bring educational opportunities to areas where they are needed most.
Our work is primarily focused in South Sudan, including Protection of Civilians (PoC) sites in Juba and other underserved communities where children face significant barriers to education. These regions have experienced years of conflict, displacement, poverty, and limited investment in educational infrastructure.
By working directly with local leaders and communities, we ensure that our programs address real needs while creating sustainable, long-term opportunities for children and families.
Many children have been forced to leave their homes, disrupting their education and limiting access to safe learning environments.
Many communities lack classrooms, educational materials, sanitation facilities, and safe spaces where children can learn.
Schools often operate with too few qualified teachers, making quality education difficult to provide consistently.
Economic hardship, food insecurity, and limited access to clean water make it difficult for many children to attend school regularly.
The Maale Foundation responds to these challenges through practical, community-led solutions. Our work includes building schools, providing scholarships, training teachers, supporting girls’ education, improving access to clean water, and partnering with local communities to strengthen educational opportunities.
Rather than addressing only one problem, we focus on creating environments where children can learn safely, families are supported, and communities are empowered to build a stronger future.
Lasting change happens when communities are actively involved. That’s why every project begins by listening to local leaders, educators, parents, and volunteers.
By working together, we create educational solutions that reflect local priorities, encourage community ownership, and continue delivering impact long after individual projects are completed.
Every contribution helps expand educational opportunities for children living in underserved communities across South Sudan. Together, we can build schools, support teachers, provide scholarships, and create brighter futures.
